Ex-Brazilian Football Player’s HEAD Found Dumped outside His Front Door

Brazilian police are investigating the death of a soccer player, who was decapitated and whose head was found by his wife.

A former Brazilian soccer star’s decapitated head has been found dumped outside his front door, police said.

The severed features of Juan Rodrigo Silva Santos, 35, were discovered in a bag left by his Rio de Janeiro home on Tuesday morning.

Some local media outlets suggest his eyes and tongue had been removed.

UOL Noticias reports that shop-owner Silva Santos was kidnapped at 7:30 p.m. on Monday by two men who ordered him into a vehicle.

Nothing more was heard of him until his wife, military policewoman Geisa Silvar, 31, went outside at 6 a.m. the following morning to report him missing.
She heard a movement by the back gate and, shortly after, found the bag containing his head.

Police are now investigating the horrific crime which has rocked the Realengos neighborhood.

Initial reports suggest that the incident could be connected to his wife’s job, but that theory has not been confirmed.

Friends said they were stunned at the news, revealing that the former athlete did not have any enemies. But they did add that his shop had recently been broken into.

Silva Santos started his career at age 16, playing for the local Bangu club before turning professional three years later.

He then played for second division teams Madureira and Boa Vista, and clubs in Switzerland and Honduras.

Full list of 2013 World’s Most Powerful People – Forbes

Forbes 2013 list of World’s Most Powerful People which was released on Wednesday featured no African President while 17 other heads of state that run nations with a combined GDP of some $48 trillion made the list.

Russian President, Vladmir Putin topped the list ahead of American President, Barack Obama, whilst the general secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping, made the top three.

Scroll down to see list...
This is the first year that Putin is wearing the crown. Obama has been on the top of the list for every year with the exception of 2010, when Hu Jintao, the former political and military leader of China, was No. 1.

Nigerian billionaire and founder of Dangote group, Aliko Dangote has been ranked the 64th most powerful person in the world this year.

The survey also put him as more powerful than all African heads of state.

The 56-year old Kano born richest man in Africa is the only African on the first 70 names on the list, closely followed by Sudanese born telecoms magnate, Mo Ibrahim.

Mr. Dangote and the founder of Oracle, Larry Ellison (number 58) are the latest billionaire-entrepreneurs to join the list alongside 27 CEOs.

The businessman has a networth of $16.1billion and diversified interests in cement, sugar, flour, salt, petrochemicals, oil and gas.

The self-made billionaire announced in May his ambition to overhaul Nigeria’s petroleum industry, with plans to build Africa’s largest petroleum refinery in the country at estimated cost of $2billion.

According to Forbes, “the Most Powerful People in the World list is an annual snapshot of heads of state, financiers, philanthropists and entrepreneurs who truly rule the world.”

“It represents the collective wisdom of top FORBES editors, who consider hundreds of nominees before ranking the planet’s top 72 power-brokers – one for every 100 million people on Earth — based on their scope of influence and their financial resources relative to their peers.”

Worm-Infested Hair Weave from Dead People Hits the Market; Ladies Beware -

Irene Myangoh, a personal assistant working at a law firm in Nairobi went to an upmarket hair salon along Kenyatta Avenue, and spent more than N5,500 on a human hair weave.

Two weeks later she started suffering from severe headache that would not go away. She would wake up with severe headache at night. She went to a private doctor who gave her drugs for the relief of mild to moderate pain of inflammatory origin with or without fever; they would only work for a few hours and then the headache would be back worse than even before. Desperate, she went to see a specialist who did blood tests and even a brain scan. All the tests were negative but the headache persisted, making her unable to concentrate at work and sleeping very poorly. She went back to her doctor who decided to examine her scalp and under the beautiful weave he found worms!

The worms were burrowing into her skull and after sending the samples to the lab they found that the hair had eggs from which the worms had Irene had to shave after this ordeal and took antibiotics for two weeks.  Elsewhere, 16-year-old girl from Buruburu, a Nairobi surburb, also suffered the same fate but unfortunately for her she died. Cobweb eggs were found in her hair after she died.

There was a profound cobweb design in her weaved hair. She dropped dead after constant headaches.

The root cause? The weave had unnoticed spider eggs. The warmth produced after weaving provided a very conducive environment for the eggs to hatch. A spider grew in her scalp and bit her. The poison found its way to her blood. She could not survive the attack.  www.mannastores.com

Nigeria sixth worst country to grow old, says UN report

On the day that Nigeria celebrated its 53rd anniversary as an independent nation, a new study released today by the UN backed Help Age International advocacy group ranked Nigeria among the worst countries in the world that least care about their old population.
The Global AgeWatch Index ranked 91 countries, with Nigeria ranked 85th, the sixth worst, with a poor record of catering for the well-being of the elderly, people older than 60. Though Nigeria has the highest GDP among the African Index countries, it ranks third lowest for income security, the report said.  “This reflects its limited pension coverage, at 5 per cent. It ranks 84th in the health domain and, with Rwanda, has the lowest life expectancy at age 60 – 16 years.
“For employment and education, Nigeria ranks 70 with the fourth highest proportion of older people, 17.4%, with secondary or higher education among its African Index counterparts. “Nigeria ranks second lowest regionally, at 76, in the enabling environment domain, with only 53% of older Nigerians enjoying civic freedom. The report indicated that older Nigerians are taking part in the Age Demands Action campaign for the first time this year. In contrast, Sweden offers the best environment to grow old. Expectedly, Afghanistan is the worst – but general affluence does not necessarily mean better conditions for the over-60s, reports the London Guardian. While Sweden’s top ranking – followed by Norway, Germany, the Netherlands and Canada – may be predictable, the Global AgeWatch index throws up some surprising results.
The US, the world’s richest country, languishes in eighth place, while the UK fails to make the top 10, residing instead at No 13. Sri Lanka ranks 36, well above Pakistan at 89, despite similar levels of gross domestic product (GDP). Bolivia and Mauritius score higher than the size of their economies may suggest, while the emerging economies of Brazil, Russia, India and China are a mixed bag. Brazil and China rank relatively high on the index; India and Russia sit much lower. The ageing index is calculated using 13 indicators under four headings: income security, healthcare, employment and education, and an enabling environment. All indicators have equal weight, except for pension income coverage, life expectancy at 60, healthy life expectancy at 60, and psychological wellbeing. These categories were given increased weighting because of better data quality, and countries were included only if there was sufficient data.

Chinese Man Cut Off His Joystick Because He Couldn't Get Himself a Girlfriend

A Chinese man frustrated at being single cut off his own penis then, in agony, decided to cycle to a hospital for treatment.

When he arrived doctors told him they couldn't help save his manhood and ordered him to cycle back home to get the penis before he could be treated.

When Yang Hu, 26, eventually arrived back at the hospital with the severed member, doctors told him that it had been without blood for too long, and it was impossible to reattach it.

Yang's friends said that he had been increasingly depressed about the fact that since moving to the city he could not find a girlfriend.

What was worse, they said, was that he was doing such long hours in a clothing factory in Jiaxing, in Zhejiang province in east China, that he doubted he would ever have a chance to meet a woman.

His depression grew so bad that after returning home after work at 9pm on October 27 to his rented room he had suddenly decided to cut off his member as there was no use for it anyway, and believing it would stop him thinking about getting a girlfriend.

President Jonathan Places Stella Oduah on ‘Tactical Suspension

Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah
President Goodluck Jonathan may have placed the embattled Minister of Aviation, Ms. Stella Oduah, on “tactical suspension,” findings by The PUNCH have revealed.

A reliable Presidency source said Jonathan decided on the “tactical suspension,” hours before the signing of the Bilateral Air Service Agreement between Nigeria and Israel on Monday.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Aviation, Mr. George Ossi, had on October 24 told the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation that Oduah led a Nigerian delegation to Israel to sign the BASA.

The House committee is probing the purchase of two bulletproof cars at a whopping N255m price by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority for the minister.

Our source explained that it was the ‘tactical suspension’ that made Jonathan to direct the Minister of State (1) for Foreign Affairs , Prof. Viola Onwuliri, to sign the agreement instead of Oduah.

When asked by one of our correspondents what ‘tactical suspension’ meant, he said, “Oduah will not be allowed to attend public functions that will have the President in attendance until the three-member committee set up to investigate the matter turns in its report.”

The source, who said he did not know whether the “tactical suspension” order had been formally communicated to the minister, stated that the step became necessary in order to dissuade Nigerians who hold the opinion that the President was shielding Oduah.

In what seemed a corroboration of the “tactical suspension,” the Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Mr. Ahmed Gulak, insisted that Jonathan would not associate with or shield anybody found to be corrupt.

He insisted during an interview with one of our correspondents on Tuesday, that the minister did not travel to Israel on the entourage of the President.

“Did you see them (Jonathan and the minister) together in Israel? The President will not associate or shield anybody found to be corrupt. That is why he set up that panel because he will not want to act based on media reports,” Gulak said.

Shortly before our source and Gulak spoke, the Presidency said the BASA was signed by Onwuliri because it was a matter bordering on foreign affairs.

The Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, in an exclusive telephone interview with one of our correspondents, argued that there was no politics involved in Onwuliri signing the agreement on behalf of the government.

He said Nigerians should not reduce the matter to “the politics of political appointees who are all ultimately birds of passage.”

The President’s spokesman said Oduah did not only attend the signing ceremony but was also involved in framing the technical details of, and in preparing the agreement along with her Israeli counterpart.

He said it was when that was done, that the Foreign Ministries moved in at the level of G2 diplomacy.

Abati added, “The groundwork (for the agreement) was done by the Ministry of Aviation hence the involvement of the Aviation Minister, but this being a country-to-country agreement, more or less a treaty, it had to be signed by the Foreign Affairs Minister.

Nigerian Jailed in the UK for Raping a Woman in Her Own Home

An illegal immigrant who was twice spared being deported from Britain has been jailed for raping a woman in her own home just months after judges allowed him to stay in the country.

The 34-year-old Nigerian, Idreez Popoola, should have been deported in 2006 after his temporary UK visa expired but he was allowed to continue living and working in Britain.

In December 2011 he was arrested and was told he would have to return to his native Nigeria but he successfully appealed the ruling.

Judges granted the nightclub bouncer temporary leave to stay in January 2012 because he had a wife and child.

Just 11 months later on December 29 last year, he brutally attacked and raped a woman in her own home.

He was jailed for seven years at Northampton Crown Court on October 18 after he was found guilty of rape following a four day trial last month.

Sentencing Popoola, Judge Lynn Tayton told him: “It was a serious aggravating factor that the rape took place in the victim’s own home as this was an abuse of the trust placed in you by the victim and has undermined her feelings of safety in her own space.”

He was also ordered to sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.

Judge Tayton also told him he would be automatically deported back to Nigeria on his release from prison.

The court heard Popoola met his victim while working as an agency-employed bouncer outside Bar So in Northampton town centre.

Gordon Aspden, prosecuting, said: “Mr Popoola met his victim at a McDonald’s restaurant in Northampton before taking her to a pub.

“He then persuaded the woman to take him back to her home, she said she was reassured by the fact he was a bouncer and thought he would have been subject to background security checks.”

The court heard that almost as soon as he was inside the woman’s house in Northampton, Popoola made strong sexual advances towards her before raping her.

A victim impact statement revealed the woman had suffered depression since the attack and had also been forced to move address as she felt her home had been ‘violated’ by Popoola.

Rapist Idreez Popoola sold mobile phone top-up cards in Nigeria before coming to Britain on a 12-month visa in 2005.

He moved to Croydon, south London, where he trained to be bouncer and gained work with an agency which supplied a nightclub in Northampton.www.mannastores.com
